Masaru is a Japanese name that stands for “ excellence”. Masaru Fund (“Masaru”) is a CMA registered Unit Trust Fund, with registration number 2/21 under the provision of Section 30 (4) of the Capital Markets Act (Cap 485A) of the laws of Kenya.

Masaru has adapted a unique structure in the Kenyan market, where the Promoter is separate from the Fund Manager, which enhances transparency and independence. The Promoter’s role is to provide distribution and administration services to the Fund Manager. The Promoter may institute an Oversight Board to safeguard the interest of the Investors in its funds.

Our Promoters

Syncap Capital
Synesis Capital (“SynCap) )the Promoter of Masaru is a CMA Licenses Investment Advisor with the registration number 112. SynCap boasts of experience spanning, private equity, investment banking, alternative asset management, and traditional asset management.
Custodian: Stanbic Bank

Responsible for:
1. Receiving Client money;
2. Executing Investment instructions issued by the Fund Manager;
3. Ensures safe custody of the Scheme’s assets;
4. Processes Client redemption requests through the Promoter;
5. Files quarterly compliance reports with the CMA.

Fund Manager:Orient Asset Managers

Responsible for:
1. Executes Investment decisions, through the Custodian, as per the approved Investment Policy Statement and Fund Management Agreement with the concurrence of the Investment Committee;
2. Files quarterly compliance reports with the CMA

Trustee: Cooperative Bank

Responsible for:
1. Oversee the operations of the Unit Trust to ensure they are in compliance with CMA regulations;
2. Files quarterly compliance reports with the CMA.
